Territorial Limits Including Transit Endorsement
If your horse travels beyond the standard policy territory, the Territorial Limits Including Transit Endorsement helps keep your mortality protection in place while you’re abroad. It’s designed for owners who ship horses internationally for sales, competition, training, breeding, or extended stays—and want coverage to follow the horse.
This endorsement expands the policy’s territory to include a defined list of countries, including Austria, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Think of that country list as the built-in “coverage sub-limit”: coverage applies in those locations (and only those locations) when you’ve scheduled the horse and paid the additional premium.
A few important guardrails apply. The endorsement ends automatically if the horse’s underlying mortality coverage expires, cancels, or is deleted (unless you reinstate or restore it). Once transit begins, the endorsement premium becomes fully earned, and the endorsement won’t cover losses that result directly or indirectly from quarantine rejection, restrictions, or requirements.
